This Saturday Feb 19 we’ll present a sonic collaboration between Play for Progress and pioneering, electronic musician, Leafcutter John at Poplar Union to celebrate International Mother Language Day through DIY instruments, sampling, vocal and instrumental music.

After a series of workshops, experimentation, sound sampling and DIY instrument building, the Play for Progress team will connect with Leafcutter John to create a night of new music drawing on languages and cultures from around the world, cooked up in a melting pot of electronics and sampling.

For the past 20 years, Leafcutter John has been at the forefront of experimental composition, constructing his own technological systems out of hardware and software to make ornate, complex electronica.
