Refugee Week 2022 Parliament Project

This Refugee Week we focused our efforts on addressing the lack of representation within Parliament of our young people’s voices and lived experience, and launched the beginnings of a project with our Young Leaders. Our Young Leaders chose an MP with whom they will engage over the next 6 months, and work towards a shadowing experience during Democracy Week next autumn. We hope to ensure that the realities of the experiences that young people seeking asylum have to survive in order to attain the basic human right of safety are deeply understood by policy makers who can help to change the system for the better.
