Croydon Culture Network Training on Organisational Health - 2020
“I found Becky Findlay Hall’s session today informative, relevant and thought provoking. She me gave some simple strategies about how to deal with stress and anxiety that I had not heard before. I am so pleased I took the time to participate as I am sure the tools she provided me with will pay off in the long term. Thank you to all of you who made it possible.”
“On behalf of us all a massive thank you for your excellent workshop [on trauma aware creative engagement]. It has underpinned a lot of what we do regarding connecting and detaching from emotion, movement, awareness of space, communication, characters - the list goes on. It has really helped me appreciate how our work deals naturally with trauma and anxiety.”
Training for Volunteers Supporting People Seeeking Asylum in Temporary Hotel Accommodations in Feltham
“Having recently been on the course with Becky, I just wanted you to know that the course was brilliant. Very thought provoking and Becky has a wealth of knowledge. The course was relaxing and gave time for everyone to be involved. Can’t recommend it enough; everyone should do it ! It helped me no end!”
Training for Arts Emergency Mentors on Understanding Trauma and Engaging Creatively with UASC’s - 2019
“I’m very grateful for the opportunity to volunteer with Play for Progress through Arts Emergency. The training received from Play for Progress to use with my mentee has proven invaluable, and it really shows how much they care about the young people they work with from the follow up I’ve had with members of the charity. It’s also aided me to better listen to those around me, as the exercises addressing their challenges have made me take a more considered approach to my interactions with others. I’d strongly recommend training with Play for Progress going forward.”
“The training itself has helped me visualise how trauma affects the brain, and how that, in turn, affects the interactions I have with my mentee, and where and how anxiety or focus problems come into play.”
Trauma Training for Bow Arts Trust on Social Justice & Creative Arts Learning in Schools - 2021
Training for Members of the RPO on Understanding Trauma and Engaging Musically with UASC’s - 2019
“[In the training] we learned the many different reasons why these under 21s have become part of the Croydon community, and how we can help them to adjust to life and education in the UK through developing music together. We needed to understand that verbal communication isn’t always an appropriate way to put the young people at ease, as their level of English may not yet be advanced, and equally, there are more universal choices of communication such as gestures, visual prompts, and of course, music! In a new country where the young people aren’t sure who to trust it is vital to establish a caring and positive place for the sessions to take place, where there’s no threat, just a joint desire to work creatively together.”
