Young Leaders Council

As soon as the first lockdown came into effect, we felt the void that was left by the absence of the voices of our #youngpeople in our ears - especially those who had taken on or naturally stepped into positions of #leadership within our organisation.

Thanks to the help of @Sound_connections #innovatefund we were able to swiftly formally establish our ⭐️YOUNG LEADERS COUNCIL⭐️

Made up of 9 young people, aged 16-21, who’ve all been service users for 2+ years, the YLC lead the design, feedback, and development of the three forms of programmes that we’ve delivered since March. From our #liveatfive streams and private online group music/art classes to our current form of weekly delivery, the YLC was the driving force.

Their voluntary participation in our #leadership pathway ensured that our management team stayed up to date with & responsive to the swiftly changing and acute needs of their peer group.
