Refugee Week at the V&A

For this years Refugee Week, young people from Play for Progress had the opportunity to travel into Central London for an informal pop up performance.

It was a joyful celebration of culture and diversity, which was a brilliant chance for young people to showcase their talent and develop their confidence as a creative community. And the warm and enthusiastic participation of visitors to the V&A passing by highlighted just how much support there is for young people seeking asylum in the UK, despite the government’s anti-refugee rhetoric.

One of the golden threads through all of our work is tapping into the healing power of music, the arts, play, and creative therapies to build healthy and resilient relationships that support and amplify the voices of unaccompanied asylum-seeking young people.

We are delighted to have been invited back to the V&A again this year and look forward to continuing a fruitful partnership with them in the years to come.
