Outing to the Horniman

This year we’re keen to create as many local outings as we can since most of our young people have free access to buses. Just the other week we took our first outing of the season to the brilliant Horniman Museum via the 197 bus from East Croydon station. Along the way, Art Team member Dima Karout shared the book she compiled last year with Lambeth council which contained the artworks we were going to see exhibited at the Horniman (check it out here). It was a great introduction to the work and got our imaginations going. But first things were first - it was a gorgeous crisp blue sky day, and off to the animal gardens we went! Then we went into the museum to engage with the exhibition, explored the music wing THOROUGHLY, participated in the wishing tree, and adventured all around the museum. We then took a breather in the library where we discussed all that we’d seen and practiced English while having lunch and relaxing together. It was a really gorgeous Saturday and we can’t wait to return and build a deeper relationship with the lovely people of the Horniman.
