Outing to British Museum

It feels so good to be out and about in town again! We met young people in East Croydon and travelled together to Blackfriars where we met a collection of our artists and musicians and made our way along the river and up through town. We practiced our map skills, improved our transport awareness, and practiced English, Arabic, and Kurdish until finally we arrived at the ultimate translation object: the Rosetta (Rashid) Stone. We explored their African exhibitions (with extra attention on the Sudanese objects) and let our curiosities guide us through. A picnic in the outer grounds followed, then an exploration of covent garden and its hidden art installations, a local gallery with which we have ties, and we found our way back to the Southbank for a samba (free music Saturdays!) and some ice cream. Summer has indeed begun!
