September Team Training

Last weekend, we prepared for the term ahead with an organisational training day focused on voice. In particular, we looked how we use our own voice, and how we tune into others, listening and co-regulating as we build trust and confidence. As ever, this was an embodied training session where we experienced for ourselves the impact of non-dual listening and breathing exercises.

The ethos of the session was beautifully captured in this quote from Prentis Hemphill (Healing Justice Director at BLM Global Network, Conflict Facilitator, Therapist):

“The kind of change we are after is cellular as well as institutional, is personal and intimate, is collective as well as cultural. We are making Love synonymous with Justice”

We also shared and explored our new Impact Framework, conjuring up creative ways to gather first-hand testimony from the young people that we work with in ways that are aligned with our trauma-informed approach.

Moving beyond conventional ideas of what ‘data’ and ‘evidence’ looks like, ideas ranged from young-person directed “mockumentaries” to recorded rap and rhyme written and produced by young people from the PfP community. We can’t wait to try these ideas out in the term ahead!
